A COLLECTION OF OVER 330 IMAGES

Inspired by the Salty Dog Portrait Project, Salty Pup celebrates the future of Jacksonville’s surf community.

After documenting the surfers who helped shape local surf culture, Chad began wondering what those same individuals might have looked like when they first fell in love with the ocean. Salty Pup was created as an answer to that question.

More than 330 young surfers were photographed for the project. Each portrait was intentionally created in black and white because these surfers are still at the beginning of their journey. One day, after years of dedication to the sport and community, they may earn their color Salty Dog portrait.
