Salty Dog Portrait Project
A COLLECTION OF OVER 110 IMAGES
The Salty Dog Portrait Project celebrates the generations of surfers who built and sustained Jacksonville’s surf community.
To be included, each participant had to have surfed for at least 25 years. The result is a collection of portraits and personal stories honoring the people whose passion, perseverance, and love for the ocean helped shape the culture we enjoy today.
Each portrait was accompanied by a reflection on surfing’s impact on their life. Together, these individuals represented 4,716 years of surfing experience and a shared legacy passed from one generation to the next.
